When you add up a bride playing football, dancing grandma’s, the funniest father/daughter dance ever, and a hilarious group of people, you’ve got yourself a recipe for a fun wedding! Lisa and Keith got married this past August in Port Gamble, WA. at the Hood Canal Vista Pavilion. Lisa and Keith were all smiles and were really laid back all day. You might recognize a few shots of their grandma’s dancing back from a previous post, but I couldn’t resist posting them again- I love it! I hope I’m dancing like that when I’m a grandma. Just so you know- EVERY SINGLE PERSON at the wedding was on that dance floor! It was great!

Here are a few select photos from their wedding. I could’ve posted a lot more- but I just realized I had 13 already. Maybe I’ll save some for the new website that will hopefully be done sometime in the next century. :)

***EDIT TO ADD***

I forgot to mention the wonderfully talented DJ, Benjamin, from Sounds Unlimited. He was not only responsible for the craziness on the dance floor, but for saving my butt and getting my keys out of my locked car!! Thanks Benjamin!!

  • Jess - I wish there was a youtube video for the father/daughter dance. It looks like they had tons o’ fun!! Do you remember what song they danced to?

  • Erin - KIM! I did not have your new blog on my reader. I can’t believe I have been missing all these fabulous shots. This wedding is so “real”. They just make me smile.

  • Heather - Awesome photos as usual Kim! I wish I’d known you when I got married so you could have been our photographer!

  • Kim Seidl - Best bridesmaids picture EVER. EVAH!

  • sean - kim hayes, you’re my hero.

  • Benjamin - What? No mention of the fine young DJ who got you into your car, and kept the party rockin’ all night long?
Excellent candid shots of the whole affair though, Kim. Major kudos!

Today is my Sunday off… I woke up late, played with the pooches for a bit, and then some how I mysteriously ended up at the computer. I started downloading Carissa & Greg’s wedding from yesterday and opened photoshop bridge to take a “quick” peek at their photos before I continued my day off. Next thing I knew, I had a full blog post. Maybe it’s the heat stroke I suffered yesterday ;) or maybe it was the cool locations we hit up for the portraits, but I couldn’t stop looking at their photos!

Carissa & Greg survived the HOTTEST day of the year yesterday here in Seattle and still managed to look HOT! Although they have been dating 10 years, the look on their faces when they saw each other for the first time was as if they had just fallen in love. They married at St. Patricks Church and held their reception at The Palace Ballroom. Best. Food. Ever.

Thanks for “giving me gold” all day guys! Congratulations!

April and Nick said their “I do’s” at Lake Tapps this past July. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful! To top it all off, we all rode a party barge across the lake to the reception. Talk about a fun group! Congrats guys!

A special thanks to Kayla Bosma for helping me out on this one!

On a more personal note, things are really busy over here at Kim Hayes Photography. The blog posts may get a little shorter as the busy wedding season keeps me glued to this computer. Stay tunned, I’ve got a new website in the works and lots of weddings and engagement sessions to post. :)

*Edit to add: Nick & April’s photos are available to view & purchase online. Go to the Kim Hayes Photography Shop and enter the groom’s last name as the password. • sean - highfive! this is awesome stuff, kim!

One of the things I love most in this world is watching someone cut loose on the dance floor! Nothing compares to the joy that radiates from that dance floor when it’s full of people just having a blast. I love this about weddings! So this blog post goes out to all those crazy kids out there cutting a rug like there is no tomorrow.

[ And yes, that first photo is Grandma getting freaked by the groomsmen- priceless! ]

Get out there and dance!

  • Deann B. - This is awesome! I’ve found that getting good dance photos like these are some of the most difficult, but also very rewarding. I love it when I find a good one on my CF card… they always make me giggle. Great post topic!!!

  • Kim Seidl - amazing.. i wanted to pick one and make a comment but they’re all awesome. but yeah, gma.. love it.
