Venus + Ricky were married Aug. 9th this year. These two LOVE photography, and happen to be hobbyist photographers themselves. They hired National Geographic photographer Natalie Fobes to document their wedding day, and Lisa Jochim of Bella Rock Studio to do their engagement photos- both are amazing photographers! So when they asked me to do a post-wedding shoot, I was flattered.

Venus, Ricky, and I spent the better half of an afternoon chasing the light (which was awesome that day) and having a blast! Although the Pacific North West can be a pain as far as weather goes, you can’t beat a beautiful, crisp, fall day! It was a nice change of pace to do wedding portraits without the time restraints that weddings usually have.

Congratulations guys! :)

**NEWS: I’m taking a blog break until I finish my new website… it might be another week or two before I get to blogging again- but I’ll have the new website to show for it!!**

good for you for working on a new website… that is definitely on my big ‘to do’ list!

  • JOsh - Charming couple!

I’m back, I’m rested, and I’m missing the sun already! Our vacation was great and chock full of sunbathing, bobbin’ in the waves, pyramid climbing, cenote snorkeling, cliff jumpin’ and hammock napping. Admittedly, I didn’t take many photographs, and when I did I majorly over used the tilt shift. I think I need some help. I wonder if Dr. Drew can help with lens use. :) Enjoy.

  • Deann B. - 1. Yay! You’re back!
    2. Yay! For all your rockin’ T/S shots (you are not overdoing it.. seriously. Don’t change a thing.)
    3. OMG… that water is amazing… what part of Mexico were you in?

  • Heather - Great pictures as usual! They make me want to go to Mexico bad. Oh, and the tilt shift is awesome.

  • Keri P. - Welcome Back! Love the pics….especially that one of the wave…it really makes me want to be frolicking in the ocean somewhere very warm.

  • Kim - yay! looks awesome. i think a bride would go nicely in front of those blue walls.. :) i can’t believe i’m going to be there in a few days right behind ya. glad to hear you had such a great time!
